Meet the Grand Worthy Advisor Hello Pennsylvania Rainbow!
I'm Diana Jolly, and I am SO thrilled and excited to be your Grand Worthy Advisor for 2011-2012! I am a proud two-time Past Worthy Advisor of Easton Assembly No. 38 and have previously served the Grand Assembly as Grand Love, Grand Standard Bearer to the Rainbow Flag, Grand Chaplain, and Grand Worthy Associate Advisor. I am a sophomore at Penn State, where I am majoring in actuarial science and minoring in German. I also love running, yoga, Penn State football, baking cookies, and wearing my snuggie.
Throughout my Rainbow career, I have been blessed to make countless new friends wherever I have gone. Because of this, I have chosen the theme “Friends are Forever” for this year. I am lucky to count many of my closest friends among my Rainbow sisters, and I hope that as you travel this year, you make many of your own lifelong friendships! My mascot is Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends from the Hundred Acre Woods, so I hope that you’ll take time to make friends with them this year as well! My colors are sunshine yellow and sky blue, and my symbols are “hunny jars” and bumblebees. My flower for this year is the red rose as it is a symbol of love which is an important ingredient in any true friendship. My song is “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts, because of its beautiful message for all of my Rainbow friends. My Bible verse comes from 1 Timothy 1:5: “The goal is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.”
Pennsylvania Rainbow’s charity for this year is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Juvenile Diabetes is a very serious disease that affects many Rainbow girls and their families, and I encourage each assembly to participate in a local walk for diabetes during the upcoming year. Let’s show all of our Rainbow sisters who have been affected by diabetes how much they mean to us and help them come one step closer to overcoming this challenge in their lives!
Finally, my membership incentive for the year: Every girl who is a first line signer on one petition will receive her very own friendship necklace. Every girl who is a first line signer on two or more petitions will receive her own “hunny jar,” perfect for storing jewelry. Best of all, the girl who is the first line signer on the most petitions during the 2011-2012 year will get not only a hunny jar, but an entire gift basket of Winnie the Pooh items! Pennsylvania Rainbow has been at the top of the list for membership gains, so let’s keep that tradition going strong!
I am so blessed and honored to be your Grand Worthy Advisor for this year, and I am looking forward to meeting all of you throughout my travels! And remember…If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep Rainbow in your heart; it’ll stay there forever.
Much Rainbow love and God Bless!
Diana K. Jolly
